Limoncello

The Italians know their liquor.  Limoncello is an amazing after dinner drink or as the Italians say “digestivo”!  It’s refreshing neat OR you can pour it over ice cream for a tasty treat for the adults.  Traditionally Limoncello takes at least a WEEK to allow the flavor of the lemon to infuse but with the Animato Whipping Siphon you can have your drink ready quicker than you can serve dessert!  Get the recipe now!

Ingredients:

  • 250g of vodka
  • Zest from 2 lemons
  • Simple Syrup, to taste

Equipment:

  • Whipping siphon
  • 1 N02 cartridge

Yield:

  • 250mL Limoncello

Timing:

  • 15 minutes

Instructions:

  1. Wash and dry lemons. Use a small paring knife or vegetable peeler to remove the thin layer of zest. Be careful not to remove the pith (white parts) which are bitter.
  2. Add lemon zest and vodka to whipping siphon. Close lid tightly to seal canister. Charge with 1 N02 cartridge. Shake for 30 seconds.
  3. Carefully vent the siphon to remove gas by holding siphon upright and use a towel to shield the opening as you release all of the gas.
  4. Remove the siphon lid and strain out the lemon zest. Keep the limoncello and add simple syrup to taste. Cheers!
